Skinfresh Clinic

LED Light therapy

A painless light session used on its own or after other treatments, with red, blue or both together depending on what your skin needs.

From $8030 minutes

What it is

LED Light Therapy is a painless, non-invasive treatment that uses specific colours of light, each at its own wavelength, to do a particular job in the skin.

Red light supports collagen production, and is used to help the skin recover after treatments such as Dermapen4 and Hydrafacial.

Blue light targets the bacteria involved in acne, and is used as part of the clinic's acne and rosacea programme.

Red and blue together, which looks purple, is used where both effects are wanted, in acne and in some other skin conditions. Red and blue are also used during some photodynamic therapy treatments for sun-damaged skin.

Who it suits

Suits almost anyone, because nothing is injected, heated or removed. It is most often used alongside another treatment, either to support recovery afterwards or as part of a longer acne programme, rather than as a one-off. Your nurse advises which colour, and how many sessions, suits your skin.

Benefits and results

  • Painless and non-invasive, with no downtime at all
  • Red light supports collagen and helps the skin settle after treatments such as Dermapen4 and Hydrafacial
  • Blue light targets the bacteria involved in acne
  • Red and blue together are used where both effects are wanted
  • Combines easily with the rest of a treatment plan

What to expect

You lie comfortably with your eyes protected while the light panel sits over the treatment area for around 30 minutes. There is nothing to feel beyond gentle warmth, and nothing to recover from, so you can go straight back to your day. Your nurse chooses the colour and the number of sessions to suit your skin and what else you are having done. Individual results vary.

Cost

From $80 per session, and often included as part of another treatment or programme. Your nurse will confirm what suits you.
