What it is
Anti-wrinkle injections use botulinum toxin to gently relax the facial muscles that create expression lines. This softens the look of frown lines, forehead lines and crow's feet while keeping your face moving naturally. It is a simple, non-surgical treatment, and we always use the smallest effective dose. The clinic stocks two brands, Dysport and Relfydess, and your clinician chooses between them for you. Relfydess, Galderma's relabotulinumtoxinA, is a ready-to-use botulinum toxin type A approved by Medsafe in New Zealand.
Relfydess. Relfydess is supplied as a ready-to-use liquid, without the complexing proteins found in powdered products. For some people this may reduce the chance of a poor response, and it may take effect sooner and may last longer. Which of the two products is used is a clinical decision made with you, not a booking choice, and individual results vary.
Medical uses. Dr Frances Pitsilis also uses these treatments medically: for migraine, jaw clenching and grinding, blepharospasm and hemifacial spasm. Treatment for excessive underarm sweating (hyperhidrosis) is provided by our nurses.
